Did you know that 5 people die each day in the UK as a result of Oral Cancer? Around 4,800 new cases are diagnosed each month, many of which result in severe disfigurement or death as a result of being detected too late. If caught early enough, these grim figures can become a success rate of 90%.

At TOPS as part of your routine check-up you are always checked for any soft tissue changes and we will refer you to a specialist immediatley if there is any indication of an unusual appearance  which if treated at an early stage, can save your life.

Look out for

• Ulcers which do not heal within three weeks
• Red and white patches in the mouth
• Unusual lumps or swellings in the mouth

If you are

• Over 40
• Smoke
• Drink heavily
• Have a family history of cancer
• Or any combination of the above

                 THEN YOU ARE AT HIGHER RISK
